Inspired by Netflix's Blown Away
Vermont Business Magazine On May 1, 2026, the AO Glass studio in Burlington began offering their Immersive Glass Experience for locals and visitors to the city's South End Arts District. The Immersive Glass Experience is one of several initiatives designed to attract more visitors to the Burlington area by offering new, exciting and educational activities. AO Glass collaborates with Hello Burlington and CEDO and plays an active role in the creative economy of Burlington.
AO Glass was inspired by the global phenomenon of Netflix’s Blown Away in creating this new experience.
“We're thrilled to announce the launch of our Immersive Glass Experience Program. This is a captivating hands-on glassblowing experience. We've designed it to bring this compelling art form and craftsmanship straight to the public," says Rich Arentzen, AO Glass's co-founder. "We are opening up a space for visitors that captures that show's same magic, energy, and artistic challenge for our community and beyond."
About the Program:
The Immersive Glass Experience includes Group Glass Activities and Glassblowing Classes. These programs are structured for those looking to have a one-of-a-kind experience in an authentic studio space, and to learn more about glass.
These experiences are offered to individuals and to groups of up to 20 participants. This program is an ideal offsite activity for out-of-state visitors attending conferences in Vermont, and for employee outings organized by Vermont companies, team-building events, graduations, and birthday ceremonies.
The program includes live intro-to-glassblowing demonstrations, hands-on stamping of sun catchers created in 2,100ºF molten glass, opportunities to make a glass vase or other object, private sessions and more. All activities are scheduled in the afternoon.
After each session is completed, participants are invited to enjoy the neighboring businesses with a glass of wine at La Reprise wine bar and a visit to the art gallery at SEABA.
“We are excited to offer live studio demonstrations and specialized courses for creating your own glass art and functional pieces at a broader scale. I especially recommend the opportunity to book a private glass art experience where we work on art and sculptural pieces together with the visiting group! And I am very grateful for the partners we have at La Reprise wine bar and at SEABA,” says Tove Ohlander, AO co-founder.
