Free Performances Across Church Street, Public Spaces, and Independent Venues Across Burlington with Live Music, Public Art, and Community Programming June 3–7
Vermont Business Magazine In celebration of International Jazz Day, the Flynn today announced Around Town programming for the 2026 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, with free performances taking place across Burlington from June 3–7.
Around Town is the festival’s umbrella for free, public-facing local programming during the 43rd annual Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. Venues and organizations throughout the city produce programming, from Church Street and City Hall Park to neighborhood stages and independent venues. This year’s Around Town includes Downtown Jazz — presented by Burlington City Arts in partnership with the Church Street Marketplace — alongside independently programmed events at venues including Venetian Soda Lounge, Zero Gravity Biergarten, Lucky You, The 126, American Flatbread, Skinny Pancake, and others.
Downtown Jazz anchors Around Town with nightly programming on the Top Block Stage on Church Street, featuring double-bill performances Wednesday through Saturday from artists including Soule Monde, Madaila, Joe’s Big Band, and All Night Boogie Band. City Hall Park hosts two lunchtime concerts on June 3 and June 5 as part of the BCA Summer Concert Series, and evening sets on College Street highlight regional artists including Birdcode and the Randall Pierce Trio.
"It’s critical that we continue to support and showcase all of the great local places and players during the festival,” said Matt Rogers, Director of Programming at the Flynn. “There are so many magical nooks to discover, whether in the South End at Venetian Soda Lounge and Zero Gravity, up in the New North End at Upper Pass Brewing, or at a Sun Ra film screening at Main Street Landing. By connecting these community stages to our curated lineup, we ensure that the festival is truly the sum of all its parts—a city-wide celebration where the energy of music on the streets and our main stages come together as one. For me, the best festivals are the ones where it’s hard to decide what set to check out next!”
"Downtown Jazz is a reflection of Burlington City Arts’ deep commitment to strengthening our city’s arts ecosystem,” said Doreen Kraft, Executive Director of Burlington City Arts. “Building on the incredible energy of the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, BCA is proud to help expand opportunities for artists and audiences to experience jazz in the heart of the city. Downtown Jazz connects the creative pulse of downtown to the magic of the waterfront, lighting up the entire city through accessible, artist-driven experiences that bring our community together.”
Venetian Soda Lounge, Zero Gravity Biergarten, Lucky You, The 126, American Flatbread, and Skinny Pancake will host Around Town programming, including a Michael-Louis Smith & Friends residency at Zero Gravity, Pale Green Pants at Lucky You, and more to be announced.
To preview the music, the Flynn has also released two official Spotify playlists for the 2026 festival. The 2026 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival Official Lineup playlist features artists from Moran’s festival lineup, while the 2026 Around Town playlist features Vermont artists performing across the free downtown stages and partner venues.
