SUBJECT: Commercial Motor Vehicle Crash

SUMMARY:
On March 27, 2026, at approximately 5:20 a.m., Inspectors from the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a commercial motor vehicle on Interstate 89 near mile marker 73.6 in Bolton.
Upon arrival, it was determined that the commercial vehicle had been traveling northbound when it left the roadway and struck a guardrail and then a bridge barrier. The truck tractor came to rest within the travel portion of the roadway, while the attached trailer remained partially off the roadway and extended over the bridge.
The vehicle involved was a 2022 Volvo truck tractor with a 2019 Great Dane trailer, owned by Epic Enterprises Inc. of Ayer, MA, and transporting Pepsi products. The vehicle was operated by Kaleb H. Koerts-Meijer, 29, of Garner, MA. The operator was not injured as a result of the crash.
**I-89 North remains closed in this section while crews work to clear the crash. All traffic is being diverted off exit 10 in Waterbury while the closure persists and is expected to last several more hours.
The Department of Motor Vehicles was assisted on scene by the Vermont State Police, Richmond Fire Department, Richmond Rescue, Bolton Fire Department, the Vermont Agency of Transportation, and Ricks Towing and Recovery.
