Interstates:
Bethel-Brookfield, I-89 Paving – Guardrail installation moving southbound from Randolph to Bethel will continue Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. The southbound Randolph rest area will be closed on Tuesday 6/16 from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. for fine milling. Motorists should expect grooved pavement, uneven lanes, and temporary lane closures with speed reductions to 55 mph.
Montpelier-Waterbury, I-89 South Paving – Expect major delays due to multiple lane closures as crews pave the final course of pavement. Motorists should also expect uneven lanes and a milled surface. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph within the project limits and fines will be doubled.
Newbury-Ryegate, I-91 Paving – Two temporary single-lane closures are planned for I-91 North between Exits 16 and 18. A speed limit reduction to 55 mph will be in place through the work zones.
Royalton, I-89 Bridge Rehabilitation – Crews will form and pour repair sections, and concrete and bridge deck work continues near Exit 3, with crossovers, 15-foot width restrictions, and a seed limit of 55 mph in place until fall 2027. Motorists should expect a speed limit of 30 mph on VT 107 with a 14-foot height restriction under Bridge 26S
Waterbury- Richmond, I-89 Southbound Paving – For this resurfacing project from Exit 11 to Exit 10, motorists should expect one-lane of travel beginning south of Exit 11 proceeding to Exit 10 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the week. Motorists should anticipate slow-moving travel within the work zone. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph and fines will be doubled.
State Highways:
Addison, VT 17 Paving – Paving top course continues westward towards the Crown Point Bridge. Expect delays with one-lane alternating traffic Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., weather-dependent.
Barre City, VT 14 and Hill Street Railroad Crossing Improvements – Monday through Friday, no traffic impacts are expected at the VT 14 or Hill Street railroad crossings as the contractor mobilizes and begins preliminary site work.
Barre-East Montpelier, VT 14 Resurfacing – Final pavement markings and other finishing work are scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Single-lane closures and alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers will be in place as needed. A short work zone will be present on the bridge near the intersection with U.S. Route 2 and may result in brief delays. A mobile work zone will be present and traffic queues and delays are anticipated behind the painting equipment. Motorists should watch for wet paint.
Barre Town, Railroad Crossing Improvements – Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., there is potential for alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers on Quarry Hill Road between Fisher Road and Cherrywood Drive for railroad crossing signal work.
Bennington, VT 9/Main Street Bridge Replacement – Crews will continue forming and pouring concrete railings and sidewalks on and off the bridge. Motorists should expect daytime lane closures on Main Street, with traffic controlled by signal lights.
Bennington, VT 67A Roundabout Construction – Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., flaggers will control alternating one-way traffic on the VT 67A, Silk Road, Matteson Road, and College Drive approaches to the VT 67A roundabout, with traffic maintained on the roundabout, while crews install curb, signage, and streetlight poles and wiring.
Brattleboro, U.S. 5 Paving – Paving is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday night through Friday morning. Flagger-controlled work zones will be present from Noah’s Lane to just south of the Exit 3 roundabout. Motorcyclists should watch for grooved and uneven surfaces.
Brattleboro, VT 9 Class 1 Paving – Utility structure work is scheduled on VT 9 from the Edmund Heights intersection to the I-91 Exit 2 interchange. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday night through Friday morning, flaggers will control traffic in intersections and through single-lane closures.
Brattleboro-Putney, U.S. 5 Resurfacing – Driveway paving is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning on the northern end of the project and progressing south. A single-lane closure will be in place with alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers. Delays are anticipated in this area.
Colchester, I-89 Exit 16 Diverging Diamond Interchange – Sunday evening through Saturday morning from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., U.S. 2/7 between the I-89 overpass bridges and Mountain View Drive will have lane closures with traffic shifted for milling, box-cutting, and paving work. Intermittent lane closures with traffic shifts will occur at the intersection of U.S. 2/7 and Rathe Road and on U.S. 2/7 progressing south toward Mountain View Drive for conduit installation. On Wednesday night and Thursday night, U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and the I-89 overpass bridges will have lane closures with traffic shifted for paving. Monday morning through Friday afternoon from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive will have lane closures for light pole base installation. Intermittent lane closures with traffic shifts and lane width reductions along the I-89 South ramps for light pole base installation and foundation and concrete pad work. Motorists should expect significant delays and rough conditions. Please drive slow, be alert, and consider alternate routes.
Colchester-Essex, VT 15 Paving – For this resurfacing project between the Colchester/Winooski town line and Susie Wilson Road on VT 15, motorists can expect slow two-way travel Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Derby, U.S. 5 and Alt. U.S. 5 Paving – Final pavement is scheduled and single-lane closures with alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers will be in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Expect delays in this area.
Elmore, VT 12 Bridge #90 Replacement – Crews will conduct excavation at the first abutment and pour concrete at the second abutment. Traffic on VT 12 near the North Branch Cascades Trail will be one lane with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by a temporary signal outside of work hours. The speed limit has been reduced to 30 mph through the project area.
Elmore, VT 12 Bridge #94 Replacement – Crews continue work on the temporary bridge and will pave the bridge approaches. Traffic on VT 12 near Camp Road will be one lane with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Outside of work hours, both lanes will be open to traffic. The speed limit has been reduced to 30 mph through the project area.
Georgia-Fairfax, VT 104A Paving – For this resurfacing project between the VT-104A/U.S. 7 intersection in Georgia extending 4.5 miles into Fairfax, motorists can expect delays with traffic control present allowing for alternating one-lane of travel Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Hartford, U.S. 4 Quechee Gorge Bridge Project – Crews continue work on the north side of the bridge. One-way alternating traffic controlled by a traffic signal is in place. Pedestrians must also cross on the south side of the bridge.
Milton, U.S. 7 Intersection Reconfiguration – Alternating one-way traffic remains in effect on Middle Road and Railroad Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with flaggers on-site. Beginning Thursday 6/18, alternating traffic on U.S. 7 will also be in effect overnight starting at 7 p.m. There will be no work on Friday.
Northfield, VT 12 Retaining Wall Replacement – The southbound lane of VT 12 near the intersection with Town Highway 54 is permanently closed for the construction season. Monday through Friday during work hours, flaggers will maintain alternating traffic patterns and facilitate trucks and equipment entering the work zone. A temporary traffic light will be active at all other times.
Norton, VT 114 Culvert Replacement – Crews will be lowering the elevation of the road. Expect alternating one-way traffic guided by flaggers or temporary signals.
Pittsford, U.S. 7 Bridge Replacement – This bridge replacement project on U.S. 7 near the intersections of Oxbow Road, Arch Street, and VT 3. Motorists may encounter traffic control on U.S. 7 to allow for alternating one-way travel.
Plymouth, VT 100 Bridge Replacement – VT 100 has reopened to traffic. Drivers should expect daily lane closures with flaggers and short delays through the work zone. Work will continue for the next week with final grading, topsoil, and seeding.
Poultney, Town Highway/South Street Bridge Rehabilitation – Excavation at the south abutment continues. Traffic remains shifted to the one-lane temporary bridge, which is open to truck traffic. Temporary signals direct vehicles through the site with flaggers as needed during construction operations and truck movements.
Readsboro, VT 100 Bridge Replacement – As part of the bridge replacement over the Deerfield River, crews will continue work on the abutment formwork, reinforcing steel, and pier foundation for the new bridge. The temporary bridge is in place.
Williston, VT 2A and Industrial Ave Intersection Roadway Widening – Crews will grade and pave driveways and the shared-use path on the west side of VT 2A between Industrial Avenue and Hillside Drive, and install concrete barrier on the east side of VT 2A. Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., the southbound right-turn-only lane from VT 2A onto Industrial Avenue will be closed. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there is potential for alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers on VT 2A between Industrial Avenue and Hillside Drive.
Wolcott, School Street Bridge Replacement – The bridge on School Street remains closed to all traffic with a signed detour in place as crews backfill and remove the forms at both abutments. Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., traffic at the intersection of VT 15 and School Street will be controlled by flaggers.
