Interstates:
Bethel-Brookfield, I-89 Paving – Guardrail installation and shoulder clean-up continues southbound, and fine-milling operations continue northbound Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. Motorists should expect grooved pavement, uneven lanes, and temporary lane closures with speed reductions to 55 mph within any active construction areas.
Montpelier-Waterbury, I-89 Southbound Paving – Crews will remove existing surface pavement and pave a final course of pavement. Monday through Wednesday from mile marker 55.0 to 53.5 the southbound travel lane will be closed to motorists. Wednesday through Friday from mile marker 63.5 to 58.0 motorists can expect lane closures during the working hours. Motorists should expect uneven lanes and a milled surface. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph within the project limits and fines will be doubled.
Newbury-Ryegate, I-91 Paving – Two temporary single-lane closures are scheduled for I-91 North between Exits 16 and 18. A speed limit reduction to 55 mph will be in place through the work zones.
Royalton, I-89 Bridge Rehabilitation – Concrete and bridge deck work continues, and repair work will begin near Exit 3, with crossovers, 15-foot width restrictions, and a speed limit of 55 mph in place until fall 2027. Motorists should expect a speed limit of 30 mph on VT 107 with a 14-foot height restriction under Bridge 26S.
State Highways:
Addison, VT 17 – Weather-dependent, paving operations will begin. Spot paving on Monday. Starting Tuesday, top course paving will begin at the intersection of VT 22A and proceed west towards the Crown Point Bridge. Expect delays Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists on VT 22A should expect delays Tuesday and Wednesday, weather-dependent.
Barre-East Montpelier, VT 14 Resurfacing – Final pavement markings and other finishing work are scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. A mobile work zone will be present, and traffic queues and delays are anticipated behind the painting equipment. Motorists should watch for wet paint. Single-lane closures and alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers will be in place as needed.
Barre Town, Railroad Crossing Improvements – Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., minimal traffic impacts are expected on Quarry Hill Road between Fisher Road and Cherrywood Drive during railroad track work, with potential for alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers.
Bennington, VT 9/Main Street Bridge Replacement – Crews will continue forming and pouring concrete railings and sidewalks on and off the bridge. Motorists should expect daytime lane closures on Main Street, with traffic controlled by signal lights.
Bennington, VT 67A Roundabout Construction – Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., flaggers will control alternating one-way traffic on the VT 67A, Silk Road, Matteson Road, and College Drive approaches to the VT 67A roundabout, with traffic maintained on the roundabout, while crews remove temporary asphalt and install streetlight poles and wiring.
Brattleboro, VT 9 Paving – Milling and paving of driveways and side roads is scheduled on VT 9 from the Edmund Heights intersection to the I-91 Exit 2 interchange. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday night through Saturday morning, flaggers will control traffic in intersections and through single-lane closures.
Brattleboro, U.S. 5 Paving – Milling is scheduled to begin Tuesday night. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Saturday morning, flagger-controlled work zones will be present from Noah’s lane to the Interstate 91 overpass near the Bennett Drive intersection. Motorcyclists should watch for grooved and uneven surfaces.
Brattleboro-Putney, U.S. 5 Resurfacing – Paving is scheduled from 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. One single-lane closure will be in place on U.S. 5 for a maximum distance of 1.5 miles for the application of final pavement. Delays are anticipated in this area.
Colchester, I-89 Exit 16 Diverging Diamond Interchange – Sunday evening through Saturday morning from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., U.S. 2/7 between the I-89 South ramps and Mountain View Drive will have lane closures with traffic shifted for milling, box-cutting, and paving work. Intermittent lane closures with traffic shifts will occur at the intersections of U.S. 2/7 at Hercules Drive and Rathe Road for signal foundation work. On Thursday night, U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and I-89 South ramps will have lane closures with traffic shifted for paving. Monday morning through Friday afternoon from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and the I-89 South ramps will have lane closures for sidewalk prep. Intermittent lane closures with traffic shifts will occur at the intersections of U.S. 2/7 at Hercules Drive and Rathe Road for signal conduit installation. Motorists should expect significant delays and rough conditions. Please drive slow, be alert, and consider alternate routes.
Colchester-Essex, VT 15 Paving – For this resurfacing project between the Colchester/Winooski town line and Susie Wilson Road on VT 15, motorists can expect slow two-way travel Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Elmore, VT 12 Bridge #90 Replacement – Crews will place concrete at the second abutment. Traffic on VT 12 near the North Branch Cascades Trail will be one lane with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by a temporary signal outside of work hours. The speed limit has been reduced to 30 mph through the project area.
Elmore, VT 12 Bridge #94 Replacement – Crews will pave the roadway around the temporary bridge. Traffic on VT 12 near Camp Road will be one lane with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Outside of work hours, both lanes will be open to traffic. The speed limit has been reduced to 30 mph through the project area.
Georgia-Fairfax, VT 104A Paving – For this resurfacing project between the VT-104A/U.S. 7 intersection in Georgia extending 4.5 miles into Fairfax, motorists can expect delays with traffic control present allowing for alternating one-lane of travel Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Hartford, U.S. 4 Quechee Gorge Bridge Project – Crews continue work on the north side of the bridge. One-way alternating traffic controlled by a traffic signal is in place. Pedestrians must also cross on the south side of the bridge.
Milton, U.S. 7 Intersection Reconfiguration – Alternating one-way traffic will be in effect on Middle Road and Railroad Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with flaggers on-site to guide motorists.
Northfield, VT 12 Retaining Wall Replacement – The southbound lane of VT 12 near the intersection with Town Highway 54 is permanently closed for the construction season. During the day, flaggers will maintain alternating traffic patterns and facilitate trucks and equipment entering the work zone. A temporary traffic light will be active at all other times.
Norton, VT 114 Culvert Replacement – Crews will remove asphalt and lower the elevation of the road. Expect alternating one-way traffic guided by flaggers or temporary signals. Traffic will be on a gravel surface.
Plymouth, VT 100 Bridge Replacement – VT 100 remains closed at Tinker Brook. The bridge will reopen by 7 a.m. on 6/12. During the closure, travelers heading north from Plymouth Union to West Bridgewater should take VT 100A north to Bridgewater Corners, then U.S. 4 west to West Bridgewater. Southbound travelers should follow the same route in reverse. Signs will be in place to guide traffic along the detour.
Pittsford, U.S. 7 Bridge Replacement – Work continues to replace the bridge on U.S. 7 near the intersections of Oxbow Road, Arch Street, and VT 3. Motorists encounter traffic control on U.S. 7 to allow for alternating one-way travel.
Poultney, Town Highway/South Street Bridge Rehabilitation – Demolition and excavation at the south abutment continue. Traffic remains shifted to the one-lane temporary bridge, which is open to truck traffic. Temporary signals direct vehicles through the site with flaggers as needed during construction operations and truck movements. Drivers should use caution through the work zone.
Readsboro, VT 100 Bridge Replacement – As part of the bridge replacement over the Deerfield River, crews will continue work on the abutment formwork, reinforcing steel, and pier foundation for the new bridge. The temporary bridge continues to carry travelers over the river.
Troy, VT 243 and VT 105 Paving – Sign installation and utility structure adjustments are scheduled from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns through single-lane closures on all project routes.
Williston, VT 2A and Industrial Ave Intersection Roadway Widening – Crews will conduct curb, shared-use path, sidewalk, and slope restoration work on the west side of VT 2A between Industrial Avenue and Hillside Drive. Monday through Friday between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., the southbound right-turn-only lane from VT 2A onto Industrial Avenue will be closed. Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., there is potential for alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers on VT 2A between Industrial Avenue and Hillside Drive.
Wolcott, School Street Bridge Replacement – The bridge on School Street remains closed to all traffic with a signed detour in place as crews continue forming wingwalls and backwall for both abutments. Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., traffic at the intersection of VT 15 and School Street will be controlled by flaggers.
