NMC names Billings permanent CEO

Jonathan Billings

Vermont Business Magazine Northwestern Medical Center has hired Jonathan Billings as the hospital’s new Chief Executive Officer. Billings most recently served as Interim CEO as well as NMC’s Chief Operating Officer, and starts in the permanent CEO role immediately.

“The Board of Directors is excited and honored to support Jonathan in this new role as CEO” said Barb Toof, President of the NMC Board. “Having dedicated 36 years to NMC, he understands the challenges we face and the successes we have achieved.”

In his time at NMC, Billings served as the Vice President of Planning and Community Relations for many years.  He also previously served as Interim CEO and most recently as COO. Billings holds a Master of Science in Health Promotion Management from Nebraska Methodist College, and is Board Certified in Healthcare Management through the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Billings was selected from an impressive slate of experienced healthcare leaders who applied for the position through a search co-facilitated by NMC and Ovation Healthcare. NMC’s Search Committee, chaired by NMC Board Vice Chair Corey Parent, narrowed the pool to three final candidates who were interviewed by NMC’s Board of Directors, Medical Staff, Leadership, Management, hospital staff and community partners. Those groups provided input to the Search Committee for their final recommendation to the NMC Board.

“I appreciate this opportunity to serve and lead in a new role. The NMC team’s mission of exceptional care matters in this community, and I am proud of all the work our people do every day. I look forward to our path forward together,” said Billings.
