Farmworker Housing Repair Program
Vermont’s Farmworker Housing Repair Program offers forgivable loans to help farmers make essential health and safety improvements to on‑farm worker housing. Eligible projects include repairs to roofs, windows, plumbing, and heating systems, as well as upgrades that improve energy efficiency and meet safety codes. Designed for farms operating on tight margins, these loans are fully forgivable over time as long as the housing continues to serve farmworkers.
Loans are also available to replace housing that is uninhabitable and beyond repair with up‑to‑code, energy‑efficient units.
