Vermont Business Magazine Blue Cross VT is hosting its annual Kayak Days event on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 10am-1pm at Prouty Beach in Newport. The event is free and open to all Vermonters to try a paddle sport and realize the mental and physical health benefits of being active on the water. It is part of Blue Cross VT’s ongoing commitment to create a healthier Vermont.

WHAT: Blue Cross VT’s Annual Kayak Days
WHEN: Saturday, August 15 from 10am to 1pm
WHERE: Prouty Beach in Newport, VT.
HOW: Join in-person for free boat rentals and personal flotation devices, giveaways for the first 50 attendees, lawn games, healthy snacks and water.
Can’t join in-person? Participate in the summer virtual challenge. Take a picture enjoying the lakes and streams of Vermont, post it to Facebook or Instagram and tag Blue Cross VT. For every post, Blue Cross VT will donate $5 to Camp Exclamation Point, a residential summer camp for underserved Vermont youth.
If you don’t have social media, you can still participate by sending photos to [email protected]. On September 8, Blue Cross VT will randomly pick one submission to receive a new kayak, paddle, and personal flotation device. Vermonters can share as many photos as they like – the more photos submitted, the better the chances of winning.
