Vermont Healthcare Consulting named SBA Vermont 2026 Woman-Owned Business of the Year

Vermont Business Magazine The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and Vermont State District Office has named Vermont Healthcare Consulting LLC and Founder, Principal Consultant Jennifer Mayhew, MPH, PMP as the 2026 Vermont Woman-Owned Business of the Year. This prestigious award recognizes Mayhew’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the Vermont healthcare community. Founded in 2020, Mayhew’s growing consulting firm, now supported by 25+ advisors, provides operational strategy, compliance support, financial performance improvement, technology integration, and workforce development services to healthcare, nonprofit, human services, and other mission-driven organizations.

“Vermont’s SBA award winners highlight the creativity, resilience, and achievements of our small business communities across the Green Mountain State,” said Adam Locklin, District Director, SBA Vermont District Office. “We are proud to celebrate Jennifer Mayhew, founder of Vermont Healthcare Consulting, for winning the SBA Woman-Owned Small Business Award and powering Vermont’s healthcare economy with innovative solutions.”

To build her entrepreneurial business, Mayhew strategically leveraged SBA programs and SBA-supported initiatives, including the SCORE mentoring program, Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans and Families, and APEX Accelerator, helping her gain critical knowledge in government contracting, registration, certifications, and procurement. With SBA’s support, VHC became a SAM-registered, NAICS-listed, government-contracting entity. In 2025, Vermont Healthcare Consulting went from a solo practice to a multi-state advisory firm and launched its national division, Practice Launch 90TM.

“We’re proud to be advancing healthcare reform by improving quality and reducing cost, while also investing in Vermont through job creation and local talent. With more than half of our team made up of women and Vermonters, and through our national Practice Launch 90™ division supporting clinicians in underserved communities, this work is about building stronger systems and expanding access to care where it’s most needed.”

The Vermont District Office will recognize the Vermont winners at a luncheon in June, hosted by VermontBiz Magazine.
