by Timothy McQuiston, Vermont Business Magazine Average gasoline prices in Vermont have risen 3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.19 per gallon today, according to AAA. Prices in Vermont are 9 cents/g higher than a month ago and stand 12 cents/g lower than a year ago.
According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Vermont this week was $2.85/g while the most expensive was $3.39/g, a difference of 54.0 cents per gallon. Prices were lowest in Bennington ($3.10/g) and Rutland ($3.13/g) counties and highest in Lamoille ($3.28/g), Essex ($3.29/g) and Grand Isle ($3.27/g), according to AAA.
The national average price of gasoline has fallen 1cent per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.19/g today, according to AAA. The national average is up 6 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to AAA.
The national average price of diesel has increased 1.9 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $3.684 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

Meanwhile, West Coast states like California and Oregon may see continued pressure due to refinery issues. Still, the switch to winter gasoline could bring relief later this month, and OPEC+’s move to boost output in October may help keep oil prices in check.”
