Building Burlington’s Future's response to the governor’s action plan for the city

Vermont Business Magazine

Sam Donnelly, executive director of Building Burlington’s Future, issued the following statement today: BBF applauds Governor Scott and Mayor Mulvaney-Stanak for their detailed short-term action plan to help address the challenges facing the City of Burlington. This is a timely development and BBF supports the recommendations laid out today.

This collaborative effort between the state and our city government is exactly what we need right now to move forward in a productive and meaningful way. We look forward to working with Mayor Mulvaney-Stanak and her team, as well as the City Council, to help implement these recommendations as soon as possible.

Success here should be measured when people in our city feel safer and when those who are struggling are getting full access to the support they need to recover.

Moving forward, it will be absolutely critical for the City and the Governor to maintain this collaborative partnership. In addition to implementation, we must continue to develop and pursue longer-term solutions for housing, public safety, and mental health. BBF stands ready to support in any way we can.
