Labor Dept launches online apprentice program look-up tool

The Vermont Department of Labor has released an easy-to-use tool to help find local Registered Apprenticeship programs! This searchable, sortable table is ideal for filtering the programs by town, county, occupation, or even employer, and will be updated quarterly.

Clean Energy Meets Registered Apprenticeships

On November 5, the VDOL Registered Apprenticeship Team attended Vermont's Energy Action Network Summit in Bolton. Clean energy is an area of growth opportunity for Registered Apprenticeships, and materials were shared with attendees about how to start a program and the benefits that could result. While there is no specific clean energy Registered Apprenticeship, many apprenticeable occupations contribute to the climate workforce. Vermont Apprenticeship Advisory Board

At the September 18, 2025 meeting, the Vermont Apprenticeship Advisory Board reviewed program updates, welcomed a new member, and heard a detailed presentation on the Ski Lift Mechanic Registered Apprenticeship Program, including its growth, challenges, and plans for federal approval. Members also discussed mentorship ratio concerns across industries, recent changes affecting electrical apprentices, and emerging training initiatives in education, healthcare, and the trades.

Next Meeting: Thursday, January 22, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM (Open to the public with a focus on healthcare, with representatives from the industry presenting)
