Northeast Delta Dental Foundation supports initiatives with over $974,000 in grants

66 Organizations in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont Receive Funding

Vermont Business Magazine The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation announced it supported oral health initiatives in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont with over $974,000 in funding. Sixty-six organizations received grants in two rounds, awarded in March and September, 2025. Giving covered a wide spectrum of programs including support for dental clinics, events, in-school programs, oral health education, scholarships, recruitment, dental education for professionals and research.

“While research indicates that the majority of our community members prioritize preventive dental care and consistent oral hygiene habits, there are still barriers to access especially for rural populations,” explained Jennifer Beyer, Senior Manager, Corporate Giving, Northeast Delta Dental.  “We are grateful to all our grantees for their partnership and dedication to addressing these barriers.”

In Maine, 25 organizations were granted funds totaling over $290,000. The University of Maine at Augusta received $25,000 towards renovations to their 3D printer lab (seen below.) The Saving Smiles dental hygiene program in Monson was able to continue providing hygiene services to that community thanks to a $34,590 grant. Additionally, New York University received $30,000 to continue its Global Student Outreach program in Machias, providing preventive dental services to children and comprehensive dental services for adults in Washington County.

New Hampshire organizations received a total of $340,105 spread among 23 initiatives. Harbor Care Health and Wellness Center was granted $10,000 for support of its dental center (seen below.) Mid-State Health Center utilized its $40,205 grant for staff and provider training and an operations improvement project and Sullivan County Oral Health Collaborative applied $50,000 in support of the expansion of their school-based program providing screenings and onsite preventive care to more than 800 children.

Seventeen oral health initiatives in Vermont were funded with a total of $339,271, including The Health Center, Plainfield, (seen below,) receiving $35,000 for adult and pediatric digital x-ray sensors in their mobile clinic. Northern Counties Health Care was awarded $50,621 to replace a compressor, panoramic x-ray and vacuum equipment and South Royalton School Clinic – HealthHUB applied its gift of $68,750 award towards the purchase of dental equipment for their mobile dental clinic to expand their comprehensive community program.

Finally, HNC Living received $5,000 to support the oral health of low income head and neck cancer patients in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Since 1995, the philanthropic arm of Northeast Delta Dental, the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation has supported organizations and initiatives in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont that provide oral health education and dental care to uninsured and underserved people.
