CCRPC taking input on Future Land Use Map and Housing Targets

Vermont Business Magazine For the past couple months, Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) has been gathering input on a new draft Future Land Use Map and draft Housing Targets for Chittenden County. We've received many comments so far, and with the comment deadline of Monday, May 19 quickly approaching, we wanted to reach out once more to remind everyone of this feedback opportunity.

In addition, our Regional Safety Action Plan is underway, with a virtual public meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, and a survey out through June 6.

If you have not already done so, please consider taking some time to review the regional projects below and provide your input. Your feedback is valuable and greatly appreciated as we collectively plan for the future!

Draft Chittenden County Future Land Use Map

Comments due Monday, May 19

As a result of the passage of Act 181 to encourage new housing and direct state funds to areas that are planned for growth, CCRPC is working with Chittenden County cities and towns to create a Future Land Use Map.

This map, once adopted, will guide how land in the region will be used in the future. In addition to the draft map, which is available in an interactive online format and as individual PDFs by city/town, we have created a series of resources to be used while reviewing and commenting. Comments will be summarized and shared on the CCRPC website shortly after the deadline of May 19. All information, including the draft map and instructions for commenting, is accessible on our website at: ccrpcvt.org/ecos-engagement

Draft Chittenden County Housing Targets

Comments due Monday, May 19

To help communities plan for the future, the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development, at the direction of the Vermont Legislature, has introduced new statewide and regional housing targets. CCRPC has divided the regional housing targets into targets for each city/town in Chittenden County.

Residents, business owners, and community leaders are invited to review the draft housing targets and provide feedback and generate ideas to help increase housing. These targets, once adopted, will be integrated into city and town plans to help address the urgent need for housing in Chittenden County. We have also created a series of resources to help guide the review/commenting process. All information, including the draft housing targets and instructions for commenting, can be found on our website at: ccrpcvt.org/housing
