Vermont Business Magazine The Associated General Contractors of Vermont (AGC-VT) is proud to commemorate its 90th anniversary in a celebratory event at their Montpelier headquarters this summer, detailed below.
For nine decades, AGC-VT has been a statewide leader in providing essential training to its members, advocating for the construction industry and fostering engagement within the construction community.
“As we celebrate 90 years of excellence, innovation, and dedication in Vermont's construction industry, we reflect on our journey and the incredible milestones we've achieved together,” AGC-VT Executive Vice President Richard Wobby said. “Our commitment to safety, education, and community has been the cornerstone of our success. Here's to continuing our legacy and building a brighter future for Vermont."
Training: AGC-VT is committed to providing top-notch training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of our workforce and attract new talent to the industry. Each year, we conduct over 100 training sessions, covering a wide range of topics from safety protocols to advanced construction techniques. These programs are designed to ensure that our members are equipped with the latest industry standards and practices. AGC-VT is also working hard to recruit Vermont’s best and brightest to the construction industry –connecting builders-in-training directly with our 200-plus member companies who are eager to hire. These are key initiatives to invest in both our current construction workforce, and that of the future.
Advocacy: Since its inception, AGC-VT has been dedicated to advocating for the interests of the construction industry at the state and federal levels. Our efforts have led to significant legislative and regulatory advancements that benefit our members and the
broader industry. We continue to work tirelessly to ensure that leaders hear the voices of our members and support those who will build a better Vermont over the next 90 years.
Engagement: Engagement is at the heart of AGC-VT's mission. We believe in the power of community and strive to foster strong connections among our members. As a testament to this commitment, we annually host 30 company safety days, bringing together thousands of construction professionals to promote safety, skills and best practices in the workplace. Additionally, our various events and initiatives – like our annual meeting, held every December, or this year’s new Scoops for Safety worksite outreach program – engage thousands of Vermonters each year, creating a vibrant and supportive professional network.
As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on our rich history and the countless achievements of our members. AGC-VT's success is built on the dedication and hard work of our community, and we are excited to continue this journey together.
Join us for our summertime anniversary celebration in commemorating 90 years of excellence. We look forward to a future filled with steadfast advocacy, innovative training, and meaningful engagement.
