Vermont Business Magazine Over 1,300 job seekers across Vermont connected directly with local employers during the Department of Labor’s Spring Job Fest Series, which concluded in Vergennes on June 5.
“These events are designed to help Vermonters take the next step in their career journey, whether they’re entering the workforce for the first time, exploring new opportunities, or considering a career change,” said Labor Commissioner Michael Harrington. “We’re proud to offer these events as a resource for job seekers to meet hiring managers, learn about available opportunities, and access the tools they need to succeed.”
The Spring Job Fest Series featured events in communities across the state, including Newport, Middlebury, Rutland, Lyndon Center, Bennington, White River Junction, and Vergennes. Attendees had the chance to meet with employers, participate in on-the-spot interviews, and connect with valuable career resources.
"I've met a lot of people here, and I've made a lot of hires from the job fair," said Eric Bach, co-owner, and director of St. Johnsbury's Canterbury Inn, speaking at the NEK Spring Job Fest. "It's definitely gotten our name out there as much as it's gotten names in for us to look at for future hires."
Nearly 250 local employers participated in the Spring Job Fest series, showcasing Vermont's diverse and promising career opportunities. The broad representation of industries sets these events apart, offering job seekers a unique opportunity to explore multiple career paths in one place. Many employers attend several events throughout the series to connect with talent across the state.
“These job fairs are more than just hiring events; they’re about building relationships and creating opportunities that strengthen our workforce and communities,” said Jay Ramsey, Director of Workforce Development at VDOL. “By bringing job seekers and employers together in a supportive setting, we’re opening doors that can lead to long-term success.”
The Spring Job Fest Series is part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to support Vermont’s workforce through innovative programs and strong partnerships. For more information on upcoming events and resources, visit labor.vermont.gov.
