Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery (VAMHAR), in collaboration with Recovery Partners of Vermont (RPV), is pleased to announce Recovery Day 2025, scheduled for Wednesday, February 19th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Governors’ Ballroom at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier.
Recovery Day is an annual advocacy celebration dedicated to honoring the power of substance use recovery and the diverse pathways individuals undertake on their recovery journeys. This year’s theme, “Recovery Rooted in Community Connection,” emphasizes the vital role that community support and peer connections play in successful recovery outcomes.
In addition to personal testimonies from individuals in recovery, readings from Writers for Recovery, and remarks from leaders in the recovery community, speakers will include North Dakota’s former First Lady Kathryn Burgum, Vermont’s Commissioner of the Department of Health Dr. Mark Levine, Chief Prevention Officer Monica Hutt, Lt. Governor John Rodgers, Attorney General Charity Clark, Commissioner of the Department of Corrections Nicholas Deml, and other state leaders.
Awards will also be presented to honor some of Vermont’s pioneers in the addiction field, including: Dr. Mark Depman, Dr. Daniel Wolfson, Dr. Rick Rawson from the University of Vermont Health Network; Kurt White and Mary Wilson of the Brattleboro Retreat and their “Unravelling Podcast;” Faces & Voices of Recovery CEO Patty McCarthy; and Manufacturing Solutions, Inc. for their contributions to the recovery friendly workplaces movement.
