Vermont Business Magazine University of Vermont Health Network welcomes 15 new providers from a variety of specialties, each committed to providing patients in the region with high quality care close to home. The health system’s intensive recruitment efforts are designed to enhance access to primary and specialty care for the one million residents of northern New York and Vermont.
Provider shortages continue to challenge rural communities where 20 percent of Americans call home and 10 percent of providers practice, according to the National Rural Health Association. The gap is even higher for specialty care like orthopedics. Despite these challenges, UVM Health Network continues to make notable progress in hiring physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs).
