United Way of Northwest Vermont welcomes new leadership and board members

Vermont Business Magazine United Way of Northwest Vermont elected new leadership to its Board of Directors and welcomed four new board members.  

United Way’s Board of Directors unanimously elected new leadership: Rick Blount as the new Chair and Katie Titterton as Secretary. Adrina Walker, Vice Chair, and John St. Hilaire, Treasurer, will continue in their current roles.  

The Board also elected four new members: Jerry Carter, of Milton, Liz Gamache, of St. Albans, Julia Guy, of Burlington, and Heidi Stumpff, of Shelburne. 

Rick Blount is a longtime nonprofit fundraising professional currently working as a consultant with Gade Associates. His volunteer service includes the boards of Community Health Centers of Burlington, Vermont City Marathon, the Vermont Health Foundation, Howard Center, Catamount Outdoor Family Center, and The Parks Foundation of Burlington.

New Board Members:  

  • Jerry Carter is a business lawyer in Burlington. His firm, Moody Advisors PLLC, provides legal services to small to medium sized businesses and to investors and entrepreneurs. Jerry and his firm work with clients to structure, negotiate and close transactions across a wide range of industries, with a focus on technology companies.  Jerry is a graduate of Saint Michael’s College and Vermont Law and Graduate School. He lives in Milton with his wife and two sons.

  • Liz Gamache is President and CEO of Lund, a Vermont nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families. With more than two decades of leadership experience in the nonprofit and public sectors, Liz has served as Mayor of St. Albans and most recently as United Way of Northwest Vermont's Chief Development Officer. She is passionate about building strong, inclusive communities through collaboration and service. Liz lives in St. Albans with her family, two rescue dogs and a cat.

  • Julia Guy is Associate Director of Leadership Giving at the University of Vermont Foundation where she promotes the reengagement of individual philanthropists with their alma mater. Julia graduated from Skidmore College in 2019. Following which, she completed 2 years of AmeriCorps VISTA in Vermont. Julia has been involved with United Way of Northwest Vermont since she completed the Nonprofit Management Certificate in 2022. Julia lives in Burlington with her partner and her tuxedo cat.

  • Heidi Stumpff is M&T Bank's Regional President of Vermont, where she has the privilege of collaborating with customers, colleagues, and community partners. Heidi also serves as the Commercial Banking Manager for Vermont. Contributing to communities and neighbors through financial literacy and empowerment, as well as fostering small business generation, are steadfast pillars of Heidi’s leadership philosophy. She proudly serves on several nonprofit boards in Vermont and lives with her family in Shelburne.
