Vermont Business Magazine Bennington once again welcomes the Northeast's finest Home Brewers on Saturday, May 3rd, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Tuttle Lot (113 Depot St.) Bennington, VT. Home Brew Festival creator Will Gardner and organizational partner Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce look to continue the tradition of bringing the community a fun, safe, and memorable event.
The festival was started in 2015 by Will Gardner and partners at 4 Corners North. After several years of growth and success, Will partnered with the Southwestern Chamber of Commerce to create the Winter HomeBrew Festival, which served as a companion event. Between the two events, there have been 16 local HomeBrew Festivals, each with their unique charm, theme, and of course, home brews!
The event was initially created to showcase the incredible talent of the region's home brewing community and help any brewer looking to open their own brewery. From that criteria, the festival has been a resounding success, showcasing over 125 unique home brewers, with 11 of them opening their very own brewery.
This year, the festival boasts 30 brewers from 7 states! It will be a mix of veteran HomeBrew Festival staples like Groff Garage Brewing, Invisible Mountain Brewing, and All Nighter Brewing, with some new folks like Fallen Krausen Brewing, Tut’s Taproom, and Southshore Homebrew Club. What makes this festival so unique is ticket holders can sample the over 125 unique beverages at this festival! The beverages range from beer, cider, mead, N/A, hop water, wine, and kombucha. Attendees can expect some unique offerings like barrel-aged stouts, triple-hopped IPAs, fruited sours, and crispy pilsners, to name a few.

Here is a list of current participating brewers: Angry Rabbit, ALL NIGHTER BREWING, Hanging Hat Brewing Company, The Jolly Fool Brews, Two Pines Brewing Co., Smooth Liquidation Brewing, Groff Garage Brewery (GGB), River Valley Brewing, Marshall Mash Brew Lab, Over the River Brewing Co,
Sax Brewing Co., Flying Fox Brewing, In Tolerance Brewing, Whole Nother Level/relaTiv Beer, MellowStoneBrewers, Wicked Ways, Catseyesoup Brewing, SPARGE Homebrew Club, Three Girls Brewing, Fallen Krausen Brewing, Vintage Tree Cidery, Invisible Mountain Brewing, Southshore Homebrew Club, Three Teachers Brewing, Tut's Taproom, Burnt Tail Brewing, and Silver Bridge Brewery.
If unique beverages aren't enough, the festival has recruited over a dozen vendors. They welcome back Hangry Hogg Bar-B-Que Food Truck, and new to the festival, A Crooked Barn Charcuterie. The other vendors include: Threat Neutralized Bakery, Outdoor Secrets Unwrapped Hot Sauce, Taylor Farm Hemp Co., Highland Ledge Farm, Uzume's Pots, Amar&Riley, and the Better Business Bureau.
The festival has unique beverages, delicious food, and plentiful shopping so what else could make the day even better? LIVE MUSIC! The festival is pleased to announce LIVE music from the local band, Horsey Cow, for the entirety of the event. Playing classics, originals, and country, they are sure to play something for everyone.
New to this festival is a partnership with the Bennington 250 Celebration. The festival is an official stop for the Expedition to Capture Ticonderoga. The brewers will craft unique historical beverages and name them in honor of the rich local history. Learn more here: www.bennington250.org
