Severe Storm Recovery Update

Vermont Business Magazine Businesses, nonprofits, landlords, and farms that suffered physical damage from 2023 flooding have until Monday, September 30 at 11:59 PM to submit an application for the Business Emergency Gap Assistance Program (BEGAP).
This includes first-time 2023 BEGAP applicants AND inquiries for Supplemental 2023 BEGAP funding (those that previously received 2023 BEGAP funding and have ongoing unmet need).
Before opening the portal, the Department of Economic Development strongly encourages you to visit the Business Emergency Gap Assistance Program page to learn how the program works and identify what you need to a successfully submit an application or inquiry.
*Note: The application portal will remain open for 2024 damage applications until November 15, 2024.
Technical Assistance
All applicants seeking assistance in preparing to submit this grant application, including translations, can receive help from the Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation (CVEDC). CVEDC is the statewide technical assistance provider for BEGAP. Fill out their support request form and they will follow up with resources to help.

BEGAP Help for Farms
Agricultural businesses are encouraged to visit the Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (AAFM) website for guidance before applying. If agricultural businesses have questions, they can email: [email protected]. 40% of 2024 funds are reserved for applications from agricultural and silvicultural businesses until November 15, 2024.
