New, limited release IPA is part of Lawson’s Finest’s Good Brews for a Cause Program

Vermont Business Magazine Lawson’s Finest Liquids announces the release of Deaf Glow IPA (7.2% ABV). Part of the brewery’s Good Brews for a Cause program, Deaf Glow will be released during the month of September, Deaf Awareness Month, a time to advocate for inclusion, accessibility, and promoting the rights of Deaf people. Join us on Sept. 21 for a party at Lawson’s Finest’s destination brewery and taproom in Waitsfield, Vt., to celebrate the release of Deaf Glow. The new brew will be available on draft and in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans exclusively in the taproom.

Dry-hopped with Mosaic, Galaxy and Simcoe, this IPA has a golden hue, brimming with dank, fruity character. Deaf Glow was crafted to benefit two local organizations, the Vermont Association of the Deaf and the Yolande Henry Community Foundation, which provides interpretive services that are not covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The inspiration for the beer came to the Lawson’s Finest team through Jacob Veeder and Allen Winfree from Vermont Deaf Night Out (DNO). The DNO crew hosts get-togethers around the state where Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard-of-Hearing individuals can gather and communicate through American Sign Language (ASL) in an inclusive environment. Through this connection, Allen hosting DNO and Jacob teaching ASL classes, have built a strong relationship with the Lawson’s Finest taproom team.

Lawson’s Finest worked closely with Jacob and Allen to create the can art, which features hand signs spelling out “Deaf Glow IPA” and the lantern, which represents the importance of light to the Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard-of-Hearing community.

“Beer brings people together, and this beer celebrates our local nonprofits that are increasing accessibility for many deaf individuals,” said Lawson’s Finest Liquids Director of People & Purpose Kelly Putnam.

Each Good Brews for a Cause beer is brewed to benefit important causes in the community. Previous brews include Vermont Strong, brewed to benefit neighbors affected by the catastrophic floods in 2023; and Change in the Air, brewed to benefit Change in the Air Foundation and their work to create a safer, more inclusive beer industry.

During the Deaf Glow IPA release event Sept. 21, join us at Lawson’s Finest Liquids taproom for an ASL class at 4pm, and then Deaf Night Out (DNO) at 5 pm. Vermont Association of the Deaf will be there, and Deaf Glow IPA will be available on draft and in cans.
