Funding is available through the Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center for research and development projects that support dairy processing innovation across the Northeast.
Projects funded through this grant must address at least one of the following primary goals: packaging initiatives, novel processing solutions, and/or increased collaboration. Projects may include innovation in sourcing, alternative production solutions, distribution and supply chain logistics, operations, and marketing.
This program will support projects that help dairy processors gain knowledge or implement systems that support informed, long-term business investments with beneficial environmental and/or economic impacts. Funded projects will be centered on developing alternatives to current industry standards through projects that are applicable, scalable, and replicable to small- or mid-sized Northeast dairy processors.
Awards will range from $75,000 to $350,000, with a 25% match requirement. Total program funding is $1,500,000.
Capital Equipment Assistance Program Application Closing Soon
Grant funding is available for farms to purchase equipment that will aid in the reduction of surface runoff of agricultural wastes to state waters; improve water quality of state waters; reduce odors from manure application; separate phosphorus from manure; mitigate greenhouse gases; and/or reduce costs to farmers when they apply manure.
The maximum award amount for this competitive grant is between $25,000 and $100,000, depending on the type of project and applicant. There is a 10% match requirement.

Apply for the Vermont Family Farmer of the Month Award
The Vermont Family Farmer of the Month Fund makes a financial award to a Vermont family farmer each month.
Awards recognize farmers whose businesses are contributing to a resilient Vermont agricultural landscape and who demonstrate environmental stewardship through sustainable practices.
Applicants must be a a NOFA Vermont Member or a certified Vermont Organic Farm. Awards range between $10,000 and $12,000.
The application for November through February awards closes on October 15th.

Navigating Funding Opportunities for VT Dairy Producers
Join the UVM Extension Dairy Team to learn about grants and funding opportunities that are available to Vermont dairy producers. This workshop will be offered in two locations:
- October 28th in St. Albans
- October 30th in Middlebury

The Business Emergency Gap Assistance Program (BEGAP) provides funding to businesses, nonprofits, landlords, and farms that suffered physical damage from the flooding and severe storms.
