Vermont Climate Action Plan’s update is available to the public

Vermont Business Magazine As required by the Global Warming Solutions Act, the Vermont Climate Council must update the Climate Action Plan by July 1, 2025. As part of the Council’s work, public input is being sought on draft recommendations.

The Council and its Subcommittees are hosting topic-specific virtual sessions in November to gather input from the public and stakeholders.

Strategies to Reduce Climate Pollution from Transportation

November 7, 12:30 – 2:00 pm Register for the Transportation session.

Building Resilience to support Vermont Businesses

November 8, 12:00 – 1:30 pm Register for the Rural Resilience and Businesses session.

Ways Agriculture Can Adapt to Climate Change and Reduce Climate Pollution

November 12, 12:00 – 1:30 pm Register for the Agriculture session.

Role of Natural Lands and Forestry in Climate Resilience and offsetting Climate Pollution

November 13, 6:00 – 7:30 pm Register for Natural Lands and Forestry session.

Building Resilience through Municipal Capacity

This session is for organizations that provide support to towns

November 15, 12:00 – 1:30 pm Register for Rural Resilience and Town Support session.

Municipal Climate Action and Town Leadership

This session is for municipal officials, staff, and volunteers

November 19 (two options, same content)

11:00 am – 12:30 pm Register for Municipal Climate Action afternoon session.

6:00 – 7:30 pm Register for Municipal Climate Action evening session.
