Gas prices are up 14 cents/g from a month ago and are 1 cent/g lower than this time last year. The lowest price in the state yesterday is $3.18/g in Colchester and Burlington, while the highest is $3.89/g in Island Pond.
Average gasoline prices in Burlington have risen 4.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.35/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 100 stations in Burlington. Prices in Burlington are 9.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 2.9 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Burlington was priced at $3.15/g yesterday while the most expensive was $3.59/g, a difference of 44.0 cents per gallon.
The national average price of gasoline unchanged in the last week, averaging $3.54/g today. The national average is up 21 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 10 cents per gallon higher than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
The national average price of diesel has risen 2.0 cents in the last week and stands at $4.02 per gallon.

"We've now seen the national average price of gasoline rising for four straight weeks, which isn't uncommon for this time of year. What is uncommon is the number of attacks on Russian oil refiners; attacks which could have ripple effects worldwide if they continue," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "Russia could see more capacity impacted by the attacks, forcing it to buy such products on the global market, pushing prices up everywhere. With oil prices now under more pressure and attacks potentially increasing on Russian refiners, we could be in for a few more weeks of rising prices. Significant as well is the fact that Americans are now seeing inflation again at the pump with prices higher than they were a year ago."
