Vermont Agency of Agriculture Food & Markets With sugaring season in full swing, Vermont Maple Sugar Makers throughout the state are hosting a Spring Maple Open House Weekend.
On March 23rd and 24th, more than 90 sugarhouses and maple partners will open their doors for pancake breakfasts, sugar-on-snow, tours, syrup samples, and so much more!

Join the North American Center for Saffron Research & Development and the the Rodale Institute on April 4th for their 8th Annual Saffron Workshop.
The workshop, hosted on Zoom, will cover the finer points of saffron cultivation including fertility management, adulteration, and drying methods.
A tentative program is available with more details and registration to follow at uvm.edu/~saffron.

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accountability Group
Since 2020, the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accountability (IDEA) group, a group of committed staff members working on behalf of the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets (VAAFM), has been working toward building consensus and formalizing action steps for improving our commitment to serving ALL members of the Vermont food and forest landscape.
The IDEA group is releasing their Racial Equity and Belonging Audit report and Racial Equity Action plan, developed in partnership with consultants MMG Earth. The IDEA Group is excited to have formalized their commitment to moving this work forward in coming months and years.

Franklin & Grand Isle Counties VAAFM Listening Sessions
The final installation of our statewide series of listening opportunities will be for Franklin and Grand Isle Counties on March 25th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the town offices in St. Albans Bay.
This event is being co-hosted by the Franklin County and Grand Isle County Natural Resources Conservation Districts, as well as the Franklin & Grand Isle Farmers' Watershed Alliance.
Light snacks will be available. Registration is not required!
