Farm to School and Early Childhood Vision Grant Accepting Applications

Vision Grant

Vermont Agency of Agriculture Food & Markets The Farm to School and Early Childhood Vision Grant supports innovative projects that address contemporary issues facing communities, agriculture, health, and Vermont youth through farm to school and early childhood initiatives.  

A total of $150,000 is available through this competitive funding opportunity. The minimum award is $5,000 and the maximum award is $50,000. Schools, school districts, early childhood educators, afterschool programs, and non-profits working in partnership with other organizations in the Vermont Farm to School and Early Childhood Network are eligible to apply. 

Strong proposals will be scalable and/or replicable, prioritize youth leadership, and demonstrate a significant impact on Vermont youth.

Move Forward Vermont
Public Survey

The Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation (FPR) and the Vermont Outdoor Recreation Economic Collaborative (VOREC) are leading Move Forward Together Vermont, a large-scale planning process to develop Vermont’s next shared vision for outdoor recreation and a set of priorities for the next five years.

FPR and VOREC are asking people across Vermont to fill out a survey to help guide this process. 

The survey takes 15-20 minutes to complete and asks questions about outdoor activities, opportunities, barriers, and priorities. 

Survey deadline: March 31st

Listening Sessions

Rutland County & Statewide
VAAFM Listening Sessions

The next two statewide listening sessions hosted by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets will take place in mid-March. 

The first session is a virtual statewide offering on March 8th from 12:30-2pm. The second is an in-person meeting for Rutland County in Rutland on March 20th from 4:00-5:45pm. Registration is required for both sessions.

Upcoming Vermont
Wild Kitchen Program

The Vermont Wild Kitchen returns with another in-person program on Sunday, April 14th from 10am-2pm.

At this Franklin County Event co-hosted by the VT Department of Fish & Wildlife and Rural Vermont, participants will learn to raise, hunt, and cook rabbit at Give a C.A.R.E Farmstead and the Fairfield Community Center.

The event is free with limited capacity, registration is required.
