Vermont Business Magazine After years of dreaming and hard work, Retreat Farm is unveiling the North Barn and Retreat Farm Market this weekend in Brattleboro at Farm Fest — a celebration of two new community-focused spaces that support connection and encourage broader and deeper community impact.

"When we're in connection with ourselves, our communities, and our environment, something magical happens," said Executive Director Kristin Sullivan. "We're excited about all the ways we can harness our mission to lift the actions of others and leverage the power of our collective impact, to improve shared well-being."

With over 90,000 visitors from at least 27 states and five countries in 2023, Retreat Farm is uniquely positioned to showcase and support the agricultural, creative, and land-based businesses and experiences that make Vermont unique.

"We are excited to work with and feature nearly 100 regional farms and food businesses that share the values of Retreat Farm and to support an equitable food system. The Market is one more way for residents and visitors to uplift the local food movement and celebrate what makes Vermont and New England unique," reflected Retail Manager Thomas Lamppa.

Retreat Farm is celebrating the future with an updated logo that showcases the North Barn and how the historic property is situated within the landscape.

"The new Retreat Farm brand identity is a representation of the magic that can happen when we are all able to make connections. The mountains represent the beautiful land the Farm calls home, with the area where the mountains connect forming the heart of the Farm — the North Barn," shared designers Mike Hannigan and Seth Drury from Methodikal, a creative studio based in Burlington, Vermont.

"As we look forward as an organization, this logo brings the different facets of our work together and helps friends and supporters better see and feel the impact of our land-based work," said Sullivan.

Retreat Farm's celebration of the future kicks off on June 15-16 with Farm Fest. This community-focused celebration brings together arts and cultural organizations from across the region, featuring puppet performances, aerial circus demonstrations, cheese tastings, guided walks, yoga, and a special concert on Saturday evening by Rebel Alliance.

The two-day celebration is funded in part by the Vermont Arts Council and Brattleboro Savings & Loan. Visit retreatfarm.org/events for the entire event schedule and tickets. The Retreat Farm Market is open daily from 10am-6pm, and the Thirsty Goat Bar is open Thursday through Saturday, Noon-8pm, and Sunday, Noon-6pm.

Retreat Farm is growing a community of people who care about the land and each other. As a nonprofit, Retreat Farm works with farmers, producers, and artists to lift the agricultural, creative, and land-based businesses and experiences that make Vermont unique.

Retreat Farm cares for 500+ acres of forest, farmlands, and water, including 10+ miles of trails and the historic farmstead. Thanks to the generosity of donors and grantmakers, the Farm is free and open to the public every day, serving as an essential public common and gathering space for the community.
