Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Retail & Grocers Association (VRGA) announced today a significant leadership transition as the current President, Erin Sigrist, will step down effective October 1st.

During Sigrist’s tenure, VRGA has experienced remarkable changes, including guiding the retail industry through the COVID-19 pandemic, advocating successfully on various issues within the state house, modernizing office operations, increasing fundraising, and streamlining communications. Her leadership has been instrumental in representing the interests of Vermont’s retail and grocery sectors.

"It has been an incredible honor to serve as the President of VRGA for the past seven years," said Sigrist. "I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together; guiding retailers and consumers through a global pandemic, advocating on behalf of the retail and food industries in a rapidly changing regulatory and political landscape, and workforce issues. It has been a privilege. I look forward to continuing to advocate for our industry in my new capacity."

Sigrist said she will continue to support VRGA as she begins her own lobbying and public affairs business.

To ensure a smooth transition, VRGA has announced that Ed Fox has joined the association and will begin the leadership transition immediately. Fox brings extensive experience in the food retail and food manufacturing industries, and a proven track record of success. His experience will be invaluable as VRGA continues to grow and evolve.

"We want to sincerely thank Erin for her dedicated contributions and leadership during a very difficult time for all of us. We wish her the very best in her new endeavor and look forward to working closely with her to advance our common goals moving forward. And we are thrilled to welcome Ed to VRGA," said Todd Keyworth, chairman of the board of directors. "Ed’s experience makes him the ideal new leader to guide VRGA into the future."

Fox expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, "I am honored to join VRGA and build on the strong foundation of VRGA. I look forward to working with the talented team and dedicated members to achieve our shared goals."
