AmeriCorps members have a “day on, not a day off” by joining with Hartford nonprofit to complete community service projects.
Vermont Business Magazine VHCB AmeriCorps Members will step up to serve as volunteers on the annual Martin Luther King Jr. holiday to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and improve their community. Members will support the Upper Valley Haven on projects for their Afterschool Program, Food Shelf, and Adult Shelter. Members will be joined by hundreds of thousands of Americans across the country in volunteer service on this day.
WHAT: MLK Jr. Day of Service with VHCB AmeriCorps & Upper Valley Haven
Community service projects to include food preparation for Hilton House, afterschool program activity prep, and sorting and stocking food at the Upper Valley Haven food shelf.
WHO: VHCB AmeriCorps 23-24 Cohort - 24 members serving at housing and conservation nonprofits around the state.

WHY: Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service. AmeriCorps leads this effort and remains committed to showing that joining together in service can unify Americans to strengthen ties to our communities and one another while we address critical issues.
VHCB AmeriCorps is a national service project that places AmeriCorps members with affordable housing, land conservation and environmental education organizations statewide.
