March 4, 2024 Meeting of the Vermont Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel Federal Nuclear Waste Policy Committee Announced; Committee Members will discuss spent nuclear fuel policy concerns with Congressional Delegation Staff.  

Montpelier, VT – The Federal Nuclear Waste Policy (“FNWP”) Committee of the Vermont Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel (“VT NDCAP”) will meet on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM.  As permitted by ACT 1 of the 2023 Vermont Legislature, this meeting will be conducted solely as a webcast and teleconference.  The following link may be used to join the webcast:

At this meeting, representatives from Vermont’s Congressional Delegation will discuss current and recent bills before Congress regarding spent nuclear fuel policies.  FNWP Committee members will provide feedback on these policy proposals and share concerns raised at recent VT NDCAP meetings about spent fuel legislation.  The Panel’s 2023 Annual Report will also be discussed with the Delegation representatives. 

The March 4, 2024 FNWP Committee meeting is scheduled to run for 1 hour.  Opportunities for public questions and comments will likely be limited to assure that the invited speakers have sufficient time for their discussions with Committee members.  Written questions and comments for the Committee members or the meeting speakers may be submitted to VT NDCAP’s email address at [email protected] for follow-up replies after the meeting.
