The new Tasting Shack is slinging whiskey at Vermont’s luxury slopeside community

Vermont Business Magazine WhistlePig Whiskey has officially opened the WhistlePig Tasting Shack at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort, within Spruce Peak, Vermont’s luxury slopeside community. Building on the wildly successful WhistlePig Pavilion, New England’s premier après ski destination, the WhistlePig Tasting Shack adds a much-anticipated tasting and retail experience to this already popular slopeside destination.

The WhistlePig Tasting Shack, a tiny home turned world-class tasting room, residing adjacent to the WhistlePig Pavilion, offers tastes of WhistlePig’s most sought-after whiskeys. With walk-ins welcome, visitors can enjoy a tasting experience and purchase some of the most coveted WhistlePig bottles and limited-edition merchandise.

"The opening of the Tasting Shack gives visitors a taste of the WhistlePig distillery right here in its home state of Vermont at Spruce Peak,” said Kendal Daiger, VP of Marketing at Spruce Peak. “Our continued partnership with WhistlePig Whiskey speaks to our shared commitment to providing locals and tourists alike with the highest quality experience.”

First opened in 2018, the WhistlePig Pavilion brings a full dining experience with WhistlePig whiskey cocktails and an inspired alpine menu to resort visitors. The expansion of the partnership – opening the WhistlePig Tasting Shack in December 2023 – gives visitors an even more personalized experience with the WhistlePig brand.

“The WhistlePig Tasting Shack provides new ways for the slopeside community to enjoy a taste of the WhistlePig Farm without taking away from their time on the slopes,” said Alexandra Short, Vice President of Marketing at WhistlePig Whiskey. “We live and breathe Vermont, so bringing our award-winning whiskeys mountainside was a no-brainer.”

WhistlePig Whiskey’s Tasting Shack is open every Thursday through Sunday from 12-6:30 p.m and is located in the Village at Spruce Peak, just behind the WhistlePig Pavilion. About Spruce Peak

Spruce Peak is Vermont’s most elevated luxury slopeside community. Located at the base of Stowe’s iconic Mount Mansfield, it serves as the center of a uniquely Vermont mountain culture. Celebrating its 21st year, Spruce Peak has become a place where a close-knit group of more than 500 homeowners and members eat, drink, relax, play, and live. Spruce Peak sets the stage for memories; at its heart a charming, geothermal-powered Village Center that offers access to adventurous activities, with an intimate 450-seat performance arts center, an award-winning Bob Cupp–designed golf course and a nearly 10,000-square-foot outdoor ice rink. Central to the Village is The Lodge at Spruce Peak – Stowe’s only ski-in ski-out luxury hotel - and a members-only club with a refined and elegant 20,000 square-foot clubhouse. For those also seeking something more indulgent there is a pampering spa with outdoor pools and a fitness center, and locally inspired dining and retail destinations. Spruce Peak is an Audubon-certified sustainable community, inspired by our alpine location to be engaged stewards of 2,000 acres of preserved Vermont land.
