SBA Vermont: Nominations open for 2025 National Small Business Week Awards

SBA Vermont District Office For over 60 years, National Small Business Week has recognized the outstanding achievements of America’s small businesses for their contributions to their local communities, and to our nation’s economy. The SBA is currently accepting nominations for its 2025 National Small Business Week Awards, including the Small Business Person of the Year. All nominations must be submitted electronically no later than 4:00 p.m. EDT on December 5, 2024. The awards will be presented during the National Small Business Week awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on May 4-5, 2025. Learn more

ClimateReadyVT – Registration OPEN through August 23 

Program runs September 10 - November 19 

ClimateReadyVT is a FREE program helping small businesses in Vermont adapt to our changing climate and prepare for climate-related business disruptions. 

The program is accepting registrations for the Fall 2024 Cohort through Friday, August 23. Any business or nonprofit organization located in Vermont with 50 employees or less (FTE) is eligible to participate in this FREE program, as well as anyone who advises or provides technical assistance to Vermont businesses or nonprofit organizations. Up to 5 employees from your organization can participate! 

In partnership with the Vermont Small Business Development Center and Vermont Small Business Law Center at Vermont Law & Graduate School, ClimateReadyVT guides you through creating a custom Climate Resilience Action Plan for your business leveraging leading-edge tools and resources and expert guidance. Plans include:

  • An assessment of the climate-related hazards for your business and their potential impact
  • Action steps to mitigate these hazards
  • A budget, timeline, and resources you can access to implement and finance your plan
  • Insurance and legal considerations
  • How to communicate internally and externally about business disruptions
  • How to support the people you work with, including their mental health and wellness

Participants will also receive free technical assistance from business advisers from Vermont Small Business Development Center and free legal guidance from attorneys and law students from Vermont Small Business Law Center.

Women’s Business Centers
