Vermont Business Magazine Jenna’s Promise has announced the Fourth Annual Open House and Benefit Concert on August 24th, 2024. This is the organization’s most important event of the year, and will be hosted at Jenna’s House, 117 St Johns Street in Johnson, which is the community center of the nonprofit. Community members from across the region are invited to enjoy food, entertainment, and speeches from state and local leaders.
New This Year: Benefit Concert
This year, the Jenna’s Promise team is thrilled to introduce a benefit concert by the band THEM, a 70s and 80s rock cover band. They have played for many charitable causes. The concert is in honor of Rhonda Miller, who is courageously battling a major health crisis.
With Rhonda and her fiancé, the band’s guitarist/keyboardist Lester Patrick, moving back to their home state of Michigan, this will be the final show for ‘THEM’ in Vermont. “Jenna’s Promise is very near and dear to Rhonda’s heart, and the band takes great pleasure in being able to provide entertainment for such a great cause,” THEM said in a statement.
The concert will begin at 2 pm and go until 4 pm. The concert is open to all, with donations encouraged but not required. Contributions of any amount are appreciated, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Opening Ceremonies
At noon, various guests will take part in the annual Open House ceremony to officially celebrate the ongoing growth and impact of Jenna’s Promise. Speakers will touch upon some of the major changes going on at Jenna’s Promise, and paint a vision for the future as the organization grows into a new phase.
“We are incredibly proud of the progress Jenna’s Promise has made over the past year,” said Jenna’s Promise board member and events volunteer Olivia McGovern. “This event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, our partners, and the community. We are excited to share our vision for the future and continue making a positive impact on those affected by substance use disorder.”
Honoring CNN Hero Dawn Tatro
As part of this year’s event, we are proud to celebrate Dawn Tatro, the visionary founder of Jenna’s Promise and a recipient of the CNN Heroes award. Dawn’s relentless dedication to supporting those affected by substance use disorder has been instrumental in the creation and success of Jenna’s Promise. Her recognition as a CNN Hero underscores the profound impact she has had on the community and beyond. We invite everyone to join us in honoring Dawn and her remarkable contributions to the cause.
