Saint Michael's College On April 8, 2024, the Saint Michael’s community experienced the solar eclipse together on campus with astrophysicist Alain Brizard, Saint Michael's Professor of Physics, who guided the experience. Biology Professor earns international recognition

25 PEOPLE FROM ST. MIKE'S VISIT CAPITOL HILL
The Student Global AIDS Campaign and the Center for Student Diversity, Empowerment and Community collaborated to bring a 25-member group to Washington, D.C. They were joined by student members of the Student Disability Advocacy Alliance, Common Ground, and international students, including two of St. Mike's international Fulbright graduate students. STUDENT RECOGNIZED BY U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE
Paisleigh Atwood ’25 was recognized recently by the U.S. Department of State for receiving a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. Atwood will travel to Indonesia in the fall to embark on her research. She is a Public Health major with a minor in Anthropology at Saint Michael’s. READ MORE

A group of professors and deans from the Republic of Georgia visited St. Mike's recently. They sat in on Assistant Professor of Education Katy Farber’s class, which was geared towards teaching science and engineering to elementary-aged classrooms. READ MORE

Spanish classes and art students came together to support MOVE’s Juntes, the student arm of Migrant Justice. The group engaged the community in Alliot to support Milk with Dignity, a campaign of Migrant Justice/Justicia Migrante. READ MORE

Meet the President
President Richard Plumb recently provided an update on how St. Mike’s continues to support student success to a room packed with Burlington area alumni and friends (thanks to the generous support of Trustees Rick Cote '89 and Jim Phalen '67). Next, President Plumb hits the road and joins NYC alumni on April 17.
Alumni Spotlight: Jared Peick
Jared Peick ’13, recently shared his story about how Saint Michael’s College shaped his career with NASA. Peick majored in Biology and Chemistry and was a high honors student, inducted in four different honor societies. Peick said the communication skills he gained at Saint Michael's have helped him throughout his career.
Class of 1984 playwright receives favorable review
A member of the Saint Michael’s Class of 1984 recently premiered a new play in New York City called “Herself.” “Herself” is the brainchild of Tim McGillicuddy ’84, and is the 25th year anniversary production of the theatre company The Drilling Company, which is also the producer of Shakespeare in the Parking Lot and Shakespeare in Bryant Park.
Career Symposium
Jill Charest ’04 and keynote speaker, Dan Sullivan ’87, joined Saint Michael’s for a fireside chat as part of a career symposium event that included career panel speakers. Charest is an Instructional Designer at Cox Automotive and Sullivan is the Director of Sales at Rome Snowboards. READ MORE

Kathleen Dean ’26, from Auburn, Maine, is majoring in English and minoring in French and Philosophy.
What brought you to Saint Michael’s College?
I knew I wanted to attend a small, Catholic, liberal arts college. Many of the colleges I looked at were very similar, but Saint Michael’s stood out as one-of-a-kind when I visited on campus. I felt an excited energy on campus, and knew I wanted to be part of it. READ MORE
