United Counseling Service recertified as a Preferred Provider through VDH’s Division of Substance Use Services

Vermont Business Magazine United Counseling Service (UCS), based in Bennington, has earned recertification as a Preferred Provider through the Vermont Department of Health Division of Substance Use Services with a 93% compliance score. 

This certifies UCS to continue providing an array of substance use supports and services, including individual, group and case management services, intensive outpatient services, medication assisted treatment for alcohol and opioid use disorder, outreach, overdose prevention and harm reduction supports, training and consultation, and the eRecovery Connections app, which provides 24/7 recovery support for individuals experiencing substance use challenges.

Key areas of the recertification audit included leadership and governance, fiscal management, planning, risk management, accessibility, health and safety quality assurance and improvement rights of persons served, screening and accessing, and crisis management.

Maintaining high quality of care includes maintaining high standards of quality improvement and compliance. To receive a 93% compliance rate speaks to the excellent work we see from all of our staff.”

United Counseling Service (UCS) is a private, non-profit community mental health center that has played an essential part of Bennington County’s integrated healthcare system since 1958. The organization has been designated as a Center of Excellent by Vermont Care Partners.
