Tiny billboards celebrating Vermont’s honeybees are creating a buzz
VermontBiz The Vermont Beekeepers Association (VBA) recently launched a campaign to raise awareness of local honey and beekeeping, and to celebrate Vermont’s bees.
The campaign includes tiny, colorful billboards featuring headlines that will engage everyone who loves Vermont honey, bees, and beekeepers. The bee-scale billboards have shown up where Vermonters, both human and bee, can be found—in parks, flowerbeds, farmers’ markets, local shops and restaurants, libraries and other public places.
The VBA has promoted Vermont's Honey Industry for over 100 years and brings together beekeepers from across the state. Vermont has uniquely diverse plant variety, soul conditions, and weather patterns, all of which contribute to the production of honey that has been voted “Best Tasting Honey in the World” by the prestigious Apimondia International Federation of Beekeepers' Association.
Not only does the campaign celebrate and support Vermont’s beekeepers in the face of today’s economic pressures and climate conditions. It also recognizes the critical impact of our bees on Vermont’s ecosystems and agriculture.
“The Vermont beekeeping industry has been an important part of the state’s identity for generations. The work we are doing with the VBA allows more Vermonters and visitors to learn about the importance of bees in our natural ecosystem and spread awareness of the amazing people that make Vermont honey taste so good,” says-Andrew Munkres, president of the Vermont Beekeepers Association.
The campaign was created by HMC Advertising, headquartered in Richmond, VT, and images of billboards are available by request from HMC. To learn more about Vermont’s award-winning honey, visit VermontHoney.org today.
