Interstates
I-89 Brookfield-Montpelier – Motorists can expect lane closures Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph in the work zone.
I-89 Richmond – Motorists may encounter a single-lane closure for both southbound and northbound travel, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The right shoulder in both the northbound and southbound lanes remain closed within project limits.
I-89 White River Junction – Our partners at NHDOT are working on a multi-year bridge replacement project on I-89 over the Connecticut River. Motorists should expect daily lane closures and speed limit reductions over the northbound and southbound bridges.
I-91 Bradford – Permanent, single-lane closures with barrels have been established on I-91 near Exit 16 while crews work to complete bridge repairs. Lane closures will shift as lane striping and other tasks are completed. A full stop configuration has been implemented for traffic entering I-91 northbound from Exit 16. A speed limit reduction to 55 mph is in place through the work zones. The westbound shoulder of VT 25B/South Main Street under the work zone is closed.
I-91 Lyndon-Barton – Travelers can expect daily lane closures northbound and southbound in work zones between Exits 23 and 25, from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Speed is reduced to 55 mph in the work zone.
I-91 Westminster – A bridge deck replacement project on I-91 over VT 121 is underway. Travel is reduced to one lane across both the northbound and southbound bridges with a speed limit reduction to 55 mph. An alternating one-way traffic pattern regulated by temporary signals is in effect on VT 121 underneath the bridges.
I-91 Westminster-Springfield – A roadway resurfacing project is underway along I-91 North between Westminster and Springfield. Motorists can expect a lane closure at the Exit 7 off-ramp.
Around the State
Bennington-Pownal – Motorists should expect lane closures and slight delays on VT 279 while crews complete bridge joint repair work and cleanup activities this week.
Berlin – A bridge replacement project continues along U.S. 302. Motorists can expect intermittent short stoppages on either side of the bridge to allow construction vehicles to safely move through the work zone.
Brattleboro-Newfane – A resurfacing project is underway along VT 30. Motorists can expect several traffic control packages, shoulder closures, and single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic between Brattleboro and Newfane. Motorists can anticipate delays and are advised to follow the posted speed limit which has been reduced to 40 mph throughout the project area.
Charlotte-South Burlington – A roadway resurfacing project is nearing completion along U.S. 7 from Shelburne to South Burlington. Lane closures and flagged traffic will be in effect at several locations along U.S. 7/Shelburne Road throughout the day in the early part of the week. Motorists may encounter minor delays.
Colchester – A roadway improvement project along the U.S. 2/7 corridor at I-89 Exit 16 has completed major construction activities under the current phase of the project. Independent utility work will continue over the next several weeks. Motorists should expect delays from a closure of the outermost northbound lane along U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the week.
Hartford – Motorists can expect periodic stoppages on the south side of Bridge #7 as materials are delivered to the project site. Flaggers and uniformed traffic officers will be present to assist motorists through the work zone.
Killington – A bridge replacement project is underway on U.S. 4 east of the Skyeship Gondola. Traffic has transitioned onto the new bridge along U.S. 4. Motorists can expect intermittent stoppages and single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers. The eastern end of Mission Farm Road will remain closed.
Marshfield-Danville – A roadway resurfacing project is underway along U.S. 2. Motorists can expect lane closures and alternating one-way traffic in Marshfield.
Montpelier – A resurfacing project is underway along U.S. 2 and U.S. 302. Motorists can expect lane closures and alternating one-way traffic at the U.S. 2 and U.S. 302 roundabout between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. this week. Motorists can expect lane closures and alternating one-way traffic throughout the project limits between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. during the week.
North Hero – A bridge deck replacement project is nearing completion on the Mother's Bridge on U.S. 2 over Lake Champlain between North Hero Island and Alburgh. Drivers may encounter minor delays with a single-lane closure and one-way alternating traffic at times throughout the week.
Poultney – A bridge replacement project is ongoing at the intersection of Thrall Road and River Street where the yield to alternating traffic pattern remains in place. Trucks and other construction traffic will continue on both sides of the work zone, and flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the intersection.
Richmond – The replacement of Bridge #29 along U.S. 2 over I-89 continues this week. Drivers may encounter periodic lane closures with traffic control present to allow for one lane of alternating travel.
Richmond-Bolton – A roadway resurfacing project continues along U.S. 2. Motorists can expect moderate traffic delays during daytime work hours.
Royalton – Construction for the VT 14 railroad bridge replacement and roadway realignment project is ongoing. The temporary signals have been removed and traffic is now flowing as it did prior to active construction. Drivers must be prepared to stop at the bridge and yield to oncoming traffic. Motorists may encounter flaggers and minor delays during daytime work hours this week. Motorists should also be aware of the 12’1” overpass clearance.
Thetford – NHDOT is leading a rehabilitation of the East Thetford-Lyme Bridge along VT 113. While the bridge is closed for construction, there are two signed detour routes in place along I-91 connecting Fairlee, VT and Orford, NH in the north, and Norwich, VT and Hanover, NH in the south.
Williston – The reconstruction of the intersection of U.S. 2 and Industrial Avenue continues this week. Motorists may encounter minor delays within the various work areas during daytime work hours.
