2023 Co-op Seedling Grants!

Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets City Market is excited to announce that applications for the community grants program are now open! If you have a project in mind that aligns with their mission to support local food systems, environmental sustainability, and community resilience, you are encouraged to apply.

The deadline for submitting your grant application is Friday, June 23, 2023 at 5 pm. To apply, you can submit a digital application to [email protected], drop off a hard copy at the Customer Service desk in either our Downtown or South End locations, or mail it to City Market, Attn: Carrie Putscher, 82 South Winooski Avenue, Burlington VT 05401.

A committee made up of City Market Members and staff will review the applications and make recommendations for grant awards to our Board of Directors. Grant requests can range from $500 to $7,500.

NE-DBIC Dairy
Marketing & Branding Grant

The Dairy Marketing & Branding Services Grant Program is accepting applications from established value-added dairy processors and producer associations. The program provides funding to these entities to collaborate with marketing and branding professionals and enhance the promotion and sales of their dairy products.

Previous beneficiaries have utilized the grant funds to design digital and print marketing materials, develop branded packaging, and implement a digital marketing strategy.

The grant awards range from $10,000-50,000 with a 25% match.

Application deadline is June 8th

Showcase Your Products at Harvest New England Day

Is your business looking for a fun way to connect with new customers across New England?

VAAFM is now accepting applications from Vermont businesses who would like to vend at Harvest New England Day at the Big E on September 29^th!

The Big E is a 17-day fair and exposition that takes place each fall in West Springfield, MA. Harvest New England Day is a single-day, farmers market style event and a great opportunity for businesses who are interested in trying out their product at the Big E without a multi-day commitment.

Reminder: Farm Agronomic Practices Program

A reminder that the VAAFM Farm Agronomic Practices (FAP) Program is open for applications.

FAP invests state funds in soil-based agronomic practices to improve soil quality, increase crop production, and reduce erosion and surface runoff from agricultural fields.

Eligible conservation practices must be installed prior to June 30th and can include manure injection, conservation tillage, no-till pasture and hayland renovation, and more!

Funding is available on a first-come first-served basis, so apply now!
