Vermont Business Magazine To help voters in Chittenden County better understand the people and questions on their local ballots, Town Meeting TV will present a series of candidate forums and budget and ballot presentations during the months of January and February in advance of Town Meeting Day on March 7th.
“Forums give voters opportunities to learn more about the candidates and their views on important local issues — and be better-informed participants in our democracy,” says Programs Director Meghan O’Rourke.
All Chittenden County candidates are invited to appear on candidate forums. Forums air live on Comcast channel 1087, Burlington Telecom channels 17 and 217, online at www.ch17.tv, and will be live-streamed on Town Meeting TV’s YouTube channel: YouTube.com/TownMeetingTV.
All forums will take place in-person at the Town Meeting TV studio, unless otherwise requested. The public and press are welcome to participate — viewers are encouraged to call 802-862-3966 to ask municipal officials and candidates questions. Forum moderators will prioritize call-in questions from viewers.
At press time, a number of forums have been confirmed. Visit www.ch17.tv for more information and a complete forum schedule.
