Vermont Business Magazine Blodgett Oven Company and the Vermont National Guard will announce a new partnership through the Partnered Recruiting Initiative for Military and Employers at a signing ceremony on Wednesday, February 15, at 12:30 p.m. at the Blodgett facility in Essex.
The objective of this program is to increase employment opportunities, expand training, and improve full-time employment prospects for military members while also assisting companies in filling critical vacancies with quality employees.
"At Blodgett, we understand the importance of supporting our military members and their families," said Erica Havers, President of Blodgett Ovens, "Through this partnership with the Vermont National Guard, we are proud to provide employment opportunities and support to those who have so bravely served our country. We are thrilled to be the first employer to join the PRIME Program and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our community."
Blodgett is the first employer to sign with the VTNG through the PRIME Program. The PRIME program is a Vermont National Guard initiative. The VTNG will advise prospective recruits of the PRIME Program, assist in maintaining contact with PRIME participants, and provide transition support to first term enlisted Guard members.
“These partnerships are good business,” said Maj. Gen. Greg Knight, adjutant general, Vermont National Guard. “Blodgett is a long-time employer in Vermont, and hopefully we can help each other – the fact is that employers need workers and the Guard needs members. These partnerships look to help address this issue,” said Knight.
In addition to a formal signing, Ms. Havers and Maj. Gen. Knight will both speak. A representative from the Vermont National Guard will give a presentation on the PRIME program. The event is open to the local high school guidance counselors, Local Town Managers, and any other interested parties.
