Vermont Business Magazine The 2024 Vermont Economic Conference, presented by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, will take place on January 30, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM at the University of Vermont Dudley H. Davis Center in Burlington. Industry professionals, policymakers, business owners, and community members are encouraged to register to attend this premier economic event of the year.
With workforce recruitment and retention a foundational concern for Vermont businesses, this year’s agenda will feature a lively panel discussion entitled “The Future of Work: How Immigration Shapes Vermont's Talent Landscape.”
In addition to highlighting the economic contributions of immigrants to Vermont, a panel of experts will share successful workforce development and diversity strategies that attendees can leverage and implement in their businesses.
The panel on immigration will feature Leslie Holman of Holman Immigration Law, Tracy Dolan of the State of Vermont Refugee Office, Julia Birnn Fields of Birnn Chocolates of Vermont, and Adam Grinold of the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation.
The conference will provide valuable networking opportunities and the agenda is also set to feature insightful presentations on the state economic outlook with Mat Barewicz of the Vermont Department of Labor, the national economic outlook with Leslie Preston of TD Bank, and artificial intelligence with Alec Newcomb of ScaledOn.
