Sunday, August 27th was the busiest Sunday in the history of the Champlain Valley Fair
Vermont Business Magazine Sunday was a busy day at the Champlain Valley Fair as we scanned in 16,510 Fairgoers to the “Ten Best Days of Summer!” This is up nearly 40% in paid attendance and 20% in total scanned attendees from our 5-year average for opening Sunday. It wasn’t just active at the gates. They parked over 5,000 vehicles and organized off-site parking and bus shuttles for the first time in eleven years. Their midway partner, Strates Shows, also had a banner day even after opening rides to the public with 100 minutes for free.
“On behalf of our volunteers, staff, vendors, and States Shows, we want to thank the community for supporting the Champlain Valley Fair yesterday. Our record attendance turned the Champlain Valley Fair into the 5th largest town in the state of Vermont,” stated Jeff Bartley, Marketing Director of the Champlain Valley Exposition.
He concluded: “We are excited for 7 more days of fun as we celebrate States Shows 100th Anniversary and our agricultural roots!”
“The Strates Family was extremely excited that Champlain Valley fairgoers celebrated the Shows’ 100th birthday with us,” said Marty Biniasz, Strates Shows Director of Marketing. “Midway was packed from opening until the end of the day as thousands of memories were made!”
Overall, the attendance remains on par through the first weekend, despite the weather.
