Vermont nonprofits can now apply for the 2024 Lawson’s Finest Sunshine Fund, which has donated more than $1.25 Million since 2018
Vermont Business Magazine Lawson’s Finest Liquids, the award-winning Vermont craft brewery with a commitment to quality and sustainability, is now accepting applications for its 2024 Sunshine Fund. Created to assist nonprofits that support the environment and the people of Vermont, the Sunshine Fund is at the heart of the brewery’s Social Impact Program, known as the SIP.
A total of 24 local organizations will be recognized by Lawson’s Finest’s Sunshine Fund awards in 2024. Each Sunshine Fund awardee becomes the partner “On Tap” in the brewery’s Waitsfield, Vt., taproom for two weeks during the year and receives 100% of Sunshine Fund donations during that period. Vermont-based, tax-exempt nonprofit organizations who have not been selected as Sunshine Fund recipients in previous years are eligible to apply now through August 31.
“We are proud to support our team with robust employee benefit packages and liveable wages that don’t require tips to supplement their income,” said Lawson’s Finest Liquids Co-Owner Karen Lawson. “Since gratuity is included in the taproom experience, guests who visit are invited to make a donation to the Sunshine Fund. One hundred percent of the funds raised stay in our communities and go to support the people and places in Vermont that we are helping to thrive.”
For Sunshine Fund awards, priority is given to Mad River Valley, Washington County and Vermont non-profit organizations that focus on building healthy communities, improving food and economic security, ensuring natural resource protection, or providing sustainable recreation in Vermont’s beloved Green Mountains.
Since its inception in 2018, the Sunshine Fund has donated more than $1.25 Million in support of nearly a hundred of Vermont nonprofits. In 2022, Lawson’s Finest Liquids donated more than $290,000 to 24 nonprofit organizations.
Vermont nonprofits interested in becoming a Sunshine Fund recipient in 2024 can apply online before Aug. 31 at 5 pm. To learn more about the Sunshine Fund and the SIP, please visit lawsonsfinest.com/sip.
