Agency of Commerce and Community Development The Business Emergency Gap Assistance Program (BEGAP) application is live and has been accepting submissions since Thursday afternoon. Some submitted applications are incomplete, so here are some reminders for businesses and nonprofits that want to apply:
- The BEGAP portal only accepts certain document formats: .pdf, .png., and jpg. The system will not accept Word documents (.doc, .docx).
- Uploaded documents can be a maximum of 10 megabytes each.
- Several organizations are offering technical assistance to help applicants with the process.
- There are instructions for how to create an account with the state of Vermont before organizations can begin the application process.
- All of this information can be found on the BEGAP FAQs page. It is being constantly updated, so please check it often.
The $20M BEGAP grant program is for organizations that suffered physical damage in the flood that began July 7, 2023. The money is to be used towards reopening their doors and getting their employees back to work as soon as possible.
Report Damage
Thursday night another round of rain resulted in flash flooding in Addison County. Addison County has not been declared a disaster for individual assistance. Vermont Emergency Management is reminding everyone that this is still an ongoing disaster and damage reports can help bring more resources to Vermont, so please report your damage to 211.
