Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Democratic Party announced that they've hired Jim Dandeneau as the Party’s Interim Executive Director. Dandeneau is a familiar figure in Vermont political circles who is widely respected as an able and effective leader. He joined the VDP as House Campaign Director in 2017, leading the effort to recruit, train, and run more than 120 candidates for the Vermont House of Representatives. Democrats picked up 12 seats, resulting in a supermajority coalition that was able to override gubernatorial vetoes on key issues.

Prior to that, Jim served as Field Director for Sue Minter’s campaign for governor in 2016. When Jim moved to Vermont with his wife in 2015, he was already a seasoned political organizer and campaigner, with nearly 15 years of experience in and around New York politics.

Anne Lezak, VDP Chair said, “I’m delighted that Jim is taking on the role of Interim Executive Director at this critical time. Jim is a proven talent whose skills, knowhow, and drive are a great match for this historic campaign season. With open seats at every level - in the U.S. Senate and House and most of the statewide offices - plus important legislative races throughout the state, we need someone who can hit the ground running.”

“I’m thrilled to be coming back to the VDP,” said Dandeneau. “I’m looking forward to guiding a terrific team through this exciting and complex election season with professionalism, hard work, and a lot of success.”

Dandeneau will start as VDP Interim Executive Director Monday, May 23rd and will serve in that role for six months. He joins Coordinated Campaign Director Elliot Kaufmann; Data Director Madison Thomas; Senate Democratic Caucus Aide Sally Short; and House Democratic Caucus Campaign Director Cameron McClimans.
