FREE Wood Heat Assessments for Small Businesses in Vermont

The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation, in partnership with VEIC, announces the availability of free assessments for Vermont small businesses interested in switching from fossil fuels for their heating needs to Advanced Wood Heat (AWH). AWH includes a wide scale of technologies, from small EPA certified wood stoves all the way to wood chip boilers appropriate for large commercial buildings. Designing "Road Diets" as a Tool for Walkability and Community Revitalization - webinar

A growing number of communities are using road diets to make neighborhoods more walkable, to create complete streets, and to slow down traffic as part of other streetscape and revitalization projects. Join the Maryland Department of Planning and the Smart Growth Network on this webinar as Dan Burden, Director of Innovation and Inspiration for Blue Zones LLC, returns to examine the essential design features of road diets, as well as how to design and operate them for walking, bicycling, driving, and freight and emergency response movement, illustrating what works best and why. The presentation follows Burden’s recent Smart Growth Network webinar on roundabouts. Burden coined the term “road diet” in 1996 and has been involved in popularizing and implementing the concept across the country since then.

What type of leadership is needed today? How can we each find our unique contribution? They will also explore multisolving and why working towards gender justice is vital to address climate change while also advancing the leadership and well-being of women.

Efficiency Vermont Issues RFP for Weatherization Workforce Development

Efficiency Vermont is seeking proposals from professionals or organizations for programs that increase the number of people working in or supporting the weatherization field in Vermont. Responses to this Request for Proposals (RFP) must be delivered electronically to [email protected] by 5:00 pm EDT on Monday, July 18th, 2022. Park-and-Ride Grant

Deadline Friday, September 2

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is soliciting proposals for the improvements of small Park-and-Ride Facilities in Vermont communities. Communities that were unsuccessful in the past are encouraged to reapply. Developed plans are not necessary. A scoring process is used to determine which towns will receive funding. Additional grant and development information will be provided to interested communities who have submitted applications.
