Vermont Business Magazine TD Bank, with branches across Vermont, today announced that Don Baker has joined TD as the Vermont Commercial Market President. Baker succeeds Phil Daniels, who will be retiring later this year after 40 years with TD.

“We thank Phil for his outstanding leadership and dedication to his TD colleagues and clients over four decades, and we could not be more excited to welcome Don to our leadership team,” said Sheryl McQuade, Regional President, Northern New England, TD Bank. “Don has served as a long-time trusted advisor to a large and diverse portfolio of local clients, and his extensive expertise and experience in all aspects of commercial banking will greatly enable TD’s continued growth in Vermont."

Baker has more than 35 years of commercial banking experience, most recently serving as the Vermont Market President and Commercial Team Leader & Enterprise Banker at KeyBank.

As the Vermont Commercial Market President for TD Bank, he will be responsible for leading the Vermont commercial and small business banking teams and partnering with specialty business lending and consumer teams to expand client relationships. TD's newly appointed Regional Vice President, Mat Robitaille, will report to Baker and together they will continue growing TD Bank’s presence in the community through business development and relationship management.

Baker is based in Burlington and reports to Sheryl McQuade.

VermontBiz reached out to KeyBank, also with branches across Vermont, to ask who will replace Baker.

KeyBank's Senior Communications Manager Karen Crane said today, "We don’t have anything to announce yet."

Baker earned his Master of Science in Administration from St. Michael’s College and holds a bachelor’s degree from Colby College.

In addition to his role at TD Bank, Baker is deeply involved in the Vermont community. He currently serves as a board member of the Lake Champlain Opportunity Fund and as a Trustee of the Greater Burlington Multicultural Resource Center, helping generate opportunities to celebrate, promote and support cultural diversity both in the community and within businesses. He also is a former board member for the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce, Vermont Bankers Association, Vermont Family Business Initiative and Kiwanis of Chittenden County.
