Vermont Agency of Agriculture Food & Markets There are lots of great options for food, farm, and forestry businesses looking for support!

The Vermont Housing and Conservation Board's Farm & Forest Viability Program offers programs to support eligible farmers, agriculturally-related businesses, forest products enterprises, and forest landowners.

  • Business Advising and ownership succession planning are available for farm, food, forestry, and forest products businesses of all sizes and sectors. For a nominal fee, businesses are matched with an advisor for individualized business analysis and planning.
  • Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI) provides grant writing assistance to small businesses and rural communities interested in applying for federal grants and other funding sources.

NOFA-VT offers farmer services and programs that help aspiring, early stage, and established farmers to reach their business and quality of life goals. Certified organic, transitioning to organic, and non-certified farmers using sustainable practices can access these services.

Vermont Dairy Producers Conference

In lieu of the annual in-person conference, the Vermont Dairy Producer's Association is excited to still have the opportunity to bring together farmers and producers for an exciting, educational, and free webinar! Join the Vermont Dairy Producer’s Association and Tara Vander Dussen for a 90 minute presentation focused on the important role dairy producers play in protecting our planet and combating climate change, the importance of telling the dairy story, and the best places and strategies to do so.

BIPOC Farmer Micro-Grant Application Deadline Feb. 28

Organic Farmer's Association and the Rodale Institute partner on this annual micro-grant program specifically targeted to support small-scale Black, Indigenous, or other farmers of color, whether organic, transitioning to organic, or aspiring organic farmers.

Awards of up to $2,000 can be used for equipment, training, or anything else that contributes to a farmers success. Funding can be available immediately based on project needs.

Application Deadline: Feb. 28

The Northeast Cover Crops Council, the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture and University of Vermont Extension invite you to join them for the fifth annual Northeast Cover Crops Council Conference. Each day of the conference will include a morning plenary session and graduate student lightning talks that all can access. Concurrent sessions you choose to attend follow, as well as networking opportunities! Conference fee is $75 and includes both days.
