Vermont Business Magazine The nonprofit affordable-housing provider Cathedral Square has received a $1,750 gift from Titus Insurance Agency and Co-operative Insurance Companies as part of the Co-op’s 2022 Community Grants program.

The grant will be used to enhance and maintain the therapeutic gardens at Memory Care at Allen Brook in Williston, a Cathedral Square residential community in Williston for Vermonters with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The gardens include a closed-loop walking path and a gazebo and are specially designed to promote calm and tranquility.

“We are tremendously grateful for this gift and eagerly awaiting spring so we can start work,” said Allen Brook manager Colleen Lee. “The gardens play an important role in the therapeutic experience here and will benefit from the upgrades this grant will make possible,” she added. “This is why this gift is important to us.”

“We think Cathedral Square does great work in our community,” said Annette Hannah of Titus Insurance. “We’re proud to support their efforts.”

Co-operative Insurance Companies established its Community Grants Program in 2004 to support community projects in Vermont and New Hampshire. Through this program, Co-op partners with its agents and directors to provide funds for capital campaigns and operational support throughout the two states.

“Groups like Cathedral Square are meeting needs in the same communities that Co-op serves,” said Lee Dowgiewicz of Co-op Insurance. “We think it’s important to do our part as neighbors to help them out, and this grant program is one more way we can do that.”

Cathedral Square was one of nine organizations in 2022 chosen to receive a Co-operative Insurance Companies Community Grant.
